Best training environment I've ever been in and thats saying alot. Very educational and thorough. You feel immediately welcome and everyone is great about making sure you grasp the drills and techniques. Absolutely love it and can't express how grateful i am to be here.
My home for the past 2 years and I've been loving every minute of it! World class instruction, incredible display of humility and professionalism from Professor Andrew. You gotta try a class!!
I trained at this school for 3 weeks while visiting Washington. The main professor Andrew is top notch, delivers clear and concise instruction with all the important details. I also appreciated how their classes start right into drilling. If you want to warm up get there early before class and stretch out, as you will spend the full hour working on technique. Monday and Thursday nights seemed to have the most people and a wide arrange of skill levels. Tons and of black belts and a big female presence as well! Definitely will train here again
Amazing teachers, friendly atmosphere and inviting teammates make this gym my favorite gym in the north Seattle area. Recently moved back from GA so I was hard-pressed to find a gym with the teaching style I was accustomed to. Andrew is a fantastic coach, with major tips on points/techniques if you’re in the competitive scene. Lady is a great teacher as well for the morning classes, along with instructors Amy, Joel, Chris, Bill and more. Come for the rolls, stay for the people. 100/10
Really great community, very friendly and helpful, and very good instruction. As someone initially hesitant to try jiu jitsu, I cannot recommend this place enough.
Good coach, friendly team. Will I advise this academy? For sure 👍🏽
Prof Andrew is very knowledgeable and well versed in competition as well as combat jiu jitsu. His guys and girls are all technical killers. Don’t come in here without your A game. The whole team was very nice and respectful. Great group of folks. 10/10 would come back if I’m in the area.
Great gym great people. Andrew has been around for a long time and has alot of experience. Lots of students at every level, including some very high level black belts. Recommend dropping in.
I trained here for years, then went off to train at Tristar in Montreal. I've since trained at a lot of gyms, and none of them were as inviting as Cascade. If you are looking for a community of great people who will invite you in and make you part of the family, this is the gym for you.
Nearly a year ago I walked into Cascade, and it was one of the best decisions I made. I attended a morning session and immediately felt welcomed. I could sense the positive vibes from the people in the class; starting with the instructor. That same quality/energy remained no matter which class I attended. Once I finally met professor Andrew, I could see how that vibe trickled down throughout the school. All the instructors are patient, great attention to detail, and very knowledgeable about the art. If you’re looking to start Jiu Jitsu, like me, one class here and you’ll be hooked.
Moved here from Texas and needed a new school. 2 years later and I’m still going here. Professor Andrew is excellent and coach Kyle on morning classes is great too. I’d highly recommend this school for anybody wanting to get into BJJ.
Professor Andrew does an awesome job creating a safe training environment. We train hard and get after it, but the emphasis is always on the safety of your training partner. Really love this place and would highly suggest it to people of all levels.
I just love this place. I've been coming here for about a year and a half, and there's a real sense of community and camaraderie here. Everyone gets along, and everyone seems focused on helping everyone learn. I have been in Combat Sports for about 10 years, and due to medical issues related to mma muay thai, I am no longer able to take trauma to my face. I walked into this gym because it was both convenient, and I really like the idea of being able to work my way up a belt system. From day one, I was invited openly into the fold. The students and the teachers are both genuine and funny. The training is great, mixing technique and live sparring. I've also gotten to watch over some of the Juniors / kids classes, and they are producing some real talent there. This place is a total gem, and I look forward to every day I get to train here.
Great academy, welcoming for both new students and experienced practitioners. Great instruction and friendly vibe. My only complaint is I don't live closer and can't visit as often as I'd like!
First time doing Jiu Jitsu! Everyone was incredibly accommodating and willing to help teach you. Very comfortable environment. Highly recommend! Definitely going again!
Best Jiu-Jitsu School, Teachers and people you can find in the North West ✊
The family has been coming here for over 4.5-years now (to include my 5-year old for over a year now). Professor Andrew and his wife,Ms Amy, do a great job with all ages and I feel we are all learning at a SAFE/consistent pace for kids and adults. They give the right amount of push for the goals we're seeking. If you want to compete, they're there for you. If you don't want to compete, they're there for you. It's a positive environment where fellow students are supportive without big attitudes. A place where you can train at your intensity level, but can step up that intensity at any time. We CHOOSE to continue our training here for these and many more reasons..... see you soon.
Love this place and you will too. Been doing morning classes with Kyle who is a technical wizard, and the classes are always fun.
This is a wonderful environment to get started in martial arts. Been thinking about it for a while and in glad I found this place. Everyone here is nice and helpful. I'm hooked.
Super great gym. Friendly staff and fun environment.
Dropped in for a class from out of town. Gym was clean, and well kept. Professors made instructions clear and concise and showed excellent knowledge the moves they were teaching. Will definitely drop back in next time I’m in town. Bottom line, nice dojo, knowledgeable professors and extremely welcoming. Much respect.
The culture of this gym; set by the owner, Prof Andrew Solheim is one of peace and humility. The place is full of really nice killers that are helpful and humble to everyone on the team. A true team environment has been cultivated by the leadership of all different belts. I've been training at this gym semi-regularly for about 3 months, and it already feels like home when I walk in. Everett is blessed to have this gem.
My 6-year-old son tried his free class at this Jiu-Jitsu school. Being 6 years old, he knows nothing about this martial art and needs instruction and guidance. This was not a class of beginners or similar age groups. My son received little to no instruction and was almost choked out by an older, more experienced child. He was scared and laid crying on the mat and does not want to go back. The female instructor said, "We told them to tap if they don't like what's happening." As previously stated, my son knows nothing about Jiu-Jitsu and doesn't understand the lingo or the procedures.
