Excellent place to train with quality instructors and solid technique work. Very welcoming environment that is clean and safe. Have already learned so much since joining in September! Would definitely recommend 🙌👌

Great place to train, dropped in to the morning class while in London. Nick and the team were great to train with and extremely welcoming!

I had an amazing time visiting Carpe Diem BJJ London! Tsuyoshi is a great instructor and his students were both tough yet very technical rolls. The gym is in a convenient location and the space itself is clean while sporting a very unique/cool vibe to it. I highly recommend folks living in/visiting London to train here ASAP; can’t wait to visit again!

I was a member here from July 2018 to March 2023. I strongly advise against joining, especially if you're female. Head coach Tsuyoshi aka "Yoshi" showed favouritism towards certain members, creating an unfair hierarchy in terms of attention, personal progress, and rolling opportunities. The club lacks inclusivity for women. The low percentage and high turnover of female members speaks volumes. When I needed my coach for urgent advice, Tsuyoshi showed no interest in my concerns or progress. Despite being a small club and knowing me for years (during which he promoted me to blue belt), he couldn't provide any personal feedback. I felt neglected and let down. Furthermore, Tsuyoshi made it very clear that I was never welcome to speak to him ever again about BJJ nor any other matter moving forward. This is an appalling way to treat a loyal, long-term member. I quit the same night knowing I could never come back. I also must add during the 2020 lockdown, I continued to pay my membership dues out of love for the club. I even paid Tsuyoshi extra money for support and was offered private lessons as a thank you, which were forgotten. When I asked for a lesson, he said he was too busy to take on new students. Tsuyoshi's unprofessional behaviour not only tarnishes the Carpe Diem brand but also goes against the principals and values of the BJJ community. He seems more concerned with his social media accounts and gaining validation from other black belts than his own paying students. On a positive note, I had the opportunity to train with the brown belt coaches at the club, who were the complete opposite. They were all lovely, helpful, supportive and taught great classes, showing great knowledge with high technical skill. I believe they all have bright futures ahead in their BJJ journeys and wish them success. However, as the majority of my training was done under Tsuyoshi's instruction, this review reflects my experience and interactions with him only. It saddens me to have left a club I once loved very much on such atrocious terms.

Dropped in from out of town and got quick online responses to my inquiries. Did Ed’s lunchtime class and found him to be a solid instructor. He ran a balanced, organized and technical class that started and finished on time (he even offered me a towel!). Class was a blend of levels with beginner trials in attendance (so don’t be intimidated, white belts!).
