Before starting at Cogito/Carlson Gracie Orlando North I had been training various martial on an off for 16 years and I've haven't seen better instructors. They are very effective at breaking down the most complex movement making it accessible to everyone. The school is extremely friendly, open, and family orientated. It's a great place for beginners, casual practitioners and competitors (the school has a few). I've been going there for 3 years now. It's a great place to meet interesting people and make new experiences, oh and learn the most effective self defense system on the planet. There's no place like it!
Dillion and all of his students are first class!! Awesome facility and definitely a great place to train!!
Great school for BJJ. Professor Dillon is a great source of knowledge in the area. Awesome environment and family oriented. Best place to train in the area. for sure!
Joining Carlson Gracie North has been amazing for me and my whole family. I spent years wanting to try Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but between raising kids and work I didn't want the extra stress. I finally decided to try their 3 week trial and what I found was this gym is actually a stress reliever. There is no pressure to do anything just show up and learn. I would recommend this gym to everyone no matter your age or strength.
I may be biased, but this is a great place to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Top notch instructors.
Great instructors, and great friendly atmosphere. Good for all skill levels of Jiu-Jitsu.
Traveling for work and was looking for a place to train. I contacted them ahead of time and Dillon (owner/head instructor/resident bjj black belt) was very friendly and invited me to stop in. Dojo was nice and clean and plenty of mat space. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and great to train with. Instruction was presented well and easy to follow with good details and tweaking of technique. If you are in the area and looking for a place to train, I highly recommend you check out Cogito. I know I’ll be stopping in next time I’m in the area.
I have known the owners for a minimum of two years and have trained with them previously. When I moved here from Washington DC, I was settled into an academy where the atmosphere was right and the jiu jitsu culture was in abundance. Dillon and Derek's philosophy regarding the kind of academy they want to run most closely parallels that which I had to leave behind in DC. We are all here to train jiu jitsu - nothing more, nothing less. There are no cliques, no "elite fighters" (there really aren't even any aspiring fighters)... If you want to compete, they're more than happy to prepare you. If all you want to do is learn jiu jitsu, they're happy to teach you and promote you while not holding your choice not to compete against you. What they ask for in tuition is extremely reasonable and they offer discounts for certain people (veterans, etc.). If you happen to train anywhere else, it isn't held against you. In fact, you are encouraged to continue to do so. Jiu Jitsu can be found almost anywhere. However, you have to find the place that is right for you. I look forward to continuing to train with the folks at Cogito and eventually moving through the belts to black belt.
I have been to a few jiujitsu academy's/gyms and this is the most amazing place. One wants to feel comfortable (probably especially as a woman) and all the girls are really sweet yet serious about the martial art. Which hasn't been the case in other academies. It's definitely family oriented. Love being a part of the Cogito family.
Cogito jiu jitsu is the the perfect place to better yourself through Martial Arts. With highly knowledgeable instructors who would love to help you reach your personal goals and multiple classes through out the day that help fit into your schedule.
Great dojo for anyone beginner to expert. The Professor Dillon has a wealth of BJJ knowledge!
Hey Everyone...been through a few MMA schools, but this one is by far one of the best in the area. They have programs for everyone from kids, to beginner's to advanced, both men and ladies Jiu-jitsu and also Kickboxing. Its newer and super clean. The staff and the instructors are very friendly and have excellent experience. The students are all friendly also. So if you feel the need to get in top shape, this is definatively the place for you! Stop in and check them out!!
