A must go to gym especially if you’re in the middle of your journey and need a place to cross train, Professor Cruz is a one of a kind and has so much insight into Jiu Jitsu. The entire coaching staff as well as students are welcoming, and will push you to be your best in a constructive way.

Camal and Cruz jujitsu gym is an incredible training environment that fosters both personal growth and camaraderie. The coaches are highly skilled, approachable, and truly invested in each student’s progress, making it an ideal place for practitioners of all levels. The supportive atmosphere, combined with top-notch instruction, creates a positive and motivating space to learn and improve. My Brother In-Law brought me here a few times just to try out the gym. It was one of the best if not the best places to train, Everyone was so welcoming and they definitely give you the work. Definitely recommend this gym.

As a long time member of this Academy, I can confidently say that this school is a hidden gem in the world of martial arts. The legendary coach, Jamie Cruz, is a prominent figure in the Jiu Jitsu community with unparalleled expertise and experience. Having received his black belt from the legendary Renzo Gracie, his teachings are nothing short of extraordinary. The caliber of students under Jamie Cruz speaks volumes about his coaching prowess. From world-class UFC Hall of Famers to competitive Jiu Jitsu practitioners and casual enthusiasts, the academy caters to a diverse range of individuals. I would highly recommend Camal Cruz Jiu Jitsu Academy to both men and women, whether they are stepping onto the mat for the first time or looking to elevate their existing Jiu Jitsu. This academy is like a family and encourage anyone interested to stop in and try out a class.

I lost track of time… It must have been at least 8+ years that I’ve been training with the late Sensie Anthony Camal (Principal Judo teacher), Jamie Cruz (head BJJ coach), and the many talented instructors and helpful students that makes this place so amazing. This facility is an integral part of my family’s lifestyle. When we bought a home, it was one of the top 5 criteria that the new place be within manageable daily distance as my family are at this place about 7 days a week, whether I’m training or kids are. The student’s growth is put first and foremost. The environment and the student body exude a tight-knitted community where everyone is willing to help one another learn and advance together on this martial art journey. This place is open 7-days a week and has a diverse training curriculum from grappling art such as Judo, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and Karate w/ weapon training, not to mention even early bird classes for those that have a busy day ahead and want to get their workout in 6 AM for that post-training endorphin rush that better than caffeine!

Training at Camal and Cruz changed my life and pushed me to a limit I never knew existed. Sensei Camal is a no nonsense instructor, old school, and instills toughness, grit, and discipline in all his students to eventually compete in Judo. Professor Cruz has an incredible knowledge of the fine details of Jiu Jitsu and expects the most out of his students technique wise. Facility is clean and professional, other instructors and black belts in both the Judo and BJJ programs have excellent skill in both instruction and competition. Highly recommended for anyone to start their journey or to drop by for some hard rounds of randori or rolling.

Great school with an amazing staff. Our son started a few months ago and was very hyperactive and easily distracted. Sensei Camal and Sensei Cruz take their time with the students, patiently teaching them discipline and respect. They have older kids and senior members that help with the toddlers as part of their own personal development. Our son has grown tremendously and loves coming here! Highly recommend!

Sensei Camal is technical, goes over a throw during class. Then he will show a move on the mat to use for ground fighting. Saturday Sensei Camal will show self defense just incase something happens in the street.

Best Judo classes in New Jersey. I highly recommend them. Brought my 4 year old daughter & 6 year old son. In just 3 weeks I have seen a huge improvement. They also train Adults which is also a highly recommended place to start or even if you are advance. The Sensi & Owner Anthony is a phenomenal instructor. Has alot of experience, patients and great communication skills.
