  We enrolled our son in the beginning of summer 2024. Immediately impressed with Coach Jack’s patience with the abundance of kids enrolled in the classes, memorizing each child’s name and making sure they all feel seen and are getting the help and encouragement they need each and every class. We loved it so much that now both of us parents have joined our son on both the practice mats and competition mats. Instructions are clear and concise, Coach Jack and other volunteer coaches are super attentive and helpful. Competition days boast a great gym family atmosphere where everyone supports and cheers on one another.

The training space feels welcoming and clean, and the instructors create a supportive environment that makes you want to keep coming back.   From the moment I arrived I was greeted by friendly staff and the instructors immediately made me feel welcome. Their knowledge and patience stood out; they break down each technique clearly and always offer personal feedback. The classes are well organized, whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve BJJ skills, and the training feels safe and supportive. I especially appreciate the emphasis on self defense and the respectful atmosphere. I highly recommend Calvert MMA Academy for anyone seeking great instruction and a positive training environment.

  My sons have been attending Calvert MMA Academy for a couple of months now and we have seen a significant improvement in their confidence and attitudes. It has truly been a great experience for our boys and for our family. We truly love the instructors and their intentions to provide a fun, but educational experience during the classes. And of course we love seeing Kim every time we come!

The instructors are knowledgeable and supportive, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the classes are well structured with clean equipment.
