My daughters have been with Sensei Luis Morales for over 5 years. They love it here just as much as I do. I’ve been to several schools in NY, FL and NJ and this is an exceptional school with the training, skill and patience of Sensei Morales, you and your family will enjoy learning martial arts. Like Sensei says, it’s not all kicks and punches. Thank you sensei 🙇‍♀️ I’m grateful. Even while I managed breast cancer, you took your time to help me continue to train and went above and beyond to make me feel good 😊

My son has been coming here for years. Sensei is amazing with kids. He is firm sometimes, but he is also fun, supportive and encouraging which, to me, is a great combination. He truly enjoys seeing the kids thrive in his class and in life. My son loves coming to karate class. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Heather Thompson

As a martial arts practitioner and student of well over 30 years I was in search of a teacher that could offer a deeper understanding and willing to share their knowledge, After man years of searching I finally met that teacher in Sensei Luis Morales. From the first day I met him and he worked with me I was blown way by his knowledge and ability to convey complex principles and concepts and be able to demonstrate and teach me how they are applied. I knew at that moment that I had found my teacher.. I live over an hour away and each week I make the round trip to train with him each week. Sensei Morales and Budo Quest Martial Arts is simply the BEST martial arts school period. Whether you live in the North Arlington NJ area, New York Area, South Jersey / Philadelphia Area or further away, whether you are an adult just starting out, have children you want to enroll, or you are a seasoned martial artist looking to enhance your skills Sensei Morales (Budo Quest Martial Arts) is highly recommended.

"A jewel in North Arlington" this is one of the top schools in the country. For those of you lucky ones to have it nearby, do not waste time and go find out for yourselves. Sensei Morales is a Master of his craft, joined by a team of high level black belts themselves, which contribute even further into development of the practitioners.

I have been fortunate to have found Sensei Morales and come back to Karate. I trained when I was younger and always kept everything I learned on my mind. Years later, I return after seeking something/someone that was missing-Karate & Sensei Morales. You become mentally & physically stronger. The dojo feels like a second home and everyone is so helpful and loving. I’m grateful and blessed to be able to train here.

This is a martial arts school as traditional as it gets. Sensei Luis Morales has studied with a veritable “who’s who” in the martial arts over his extensive career and most notably is the North America representative of Grandmaster Tetsuhiro Hokama of Okinawa, Japan. If you’re looking for the real deal in authentic Okinawan karate and kobudo look no further! For what it’s worth I drive five hours from Pennsylvania to train at this school once a month - it’s that good!

Coming to Budo Quest Martial Arts has been one of the best decisions of my life! Sensei Morales is one of the best in the world at his craft, and the level of care and dedication that he shows to his students and dojo is unmatched. He brings out the best in his students physically and mentally, and he makes them feel as though they are part of a family. I would recommend this dojo to absolutely ANYONE, and it is never too late to begin.

From the first day I called and spoke with Sensei Luis Morales, I was impressed with his professional mannerism and how well he manages to humbly teach his students. My son has an introverted personality, yet each day my husband and I are noticing a big change in him speaking outwardly. I am proud to say Karate has been the best tool we've invested in for our child to develop interpersonal relationships and higher self confidence. It is going on three months that he has been attending Budo Quest Martial Arts and he is also taking more interest in other sports such as soccer and basketball. When you walk in this place, it is clean, the aroma is always pleasant and Sensei Luis Morales is very welcoming to all of us!!! We are blessed to have met him and be apart of his location!!! I would recommend this place to anyone who has kids who are shy, introverted and/or have below average social skills. ~ AB P.S. Thank you Sensei!!!

My 7 year old son has been going to Budo Quest Martial Arts for 4 1/2 years and my husband and I couldn't be happier. I love the fact that Sensei Morales is positive and encouraging but he is also firm with his students. My son is responsible, focuses on his school work and his self-esteem is through the roof! This is in part due to the mantra he has been taught by Sensei Morales. If you want to give your child the tools to succeed in life: discipline, high self-esteem and self-defense (to name a few), sign them up for Sensei's class. Best decision we ever made!

Outstanding martial arts school. You can learn karate anywhere, but if you want to learn what karate means as a life practice, this is the place to be. Observe a class and you will know this school is where you or your child should study karate.

I have been looking for a place to take my 4 year old son to learn what he loves. Today, I took him into Budo Quest (his first time ever in a Dojo), and I was very impressed with not only the patience of Sensei Morales with excited children like my son, but the little extra time he took at the end of class to show my weapon loving child the Sai, and teach him how to say it. Last but not least, his customer service skills were certainly NOT lacking. I will be enrolling my son with Budo Quest.

Budo Quest Martial Arts is the place to learn the ORIGINAL ways of Karate. The children's program is outstanding. Not only do the children learn to protect themselves, They learn how to be respectful and responsible adults in the future. My son has been a student of Hanshi Morales for 10yrs and has inspired me to take classes as well. Budo Quest Martial Arts is a school like no other. The best way to find out is to experience it for yourself !!

My kids have been attending Budo Quest for almost 4 years. They have learned respect, confidence and excel in sports thanks to Luis Morales and his school. This Sensei is a master and top notch teacher who cares about his students and takes the time to pay attention and listen to each child, and also encourages them to do their best academically. As for the business relationship, could not ask for a better experience. I recommend this school to anyone looking for a martial arts program.

Budo Quest Martial Arts is the BEST place to train for children or adults. Sensei Luis Morales is a Grandmaster of Goju-Ryu Karate and is a shining example of everything a parent should look for when entrusting their child to a karate school. Strength, confidence, self-discipline, genuine self defense skills and focus will all develop hand-in-hand under Sensei Morales' careful guidance. Come and watch a class and see for yourself.

Master Disaster

Initially my child enjoyed and looked forward to coming to the classes but towards the end, hated coming. Mr. Morales is a good teacher of martial arts don’t get me wrong but when it comes to handling of the kids, that’s where I think he falls woefully short. It’s only a part of human nature to gravitate toward people/kids and develop some sort of favoritism whether consciously or subconsciously but that’s what the issue was. While understanding and respecting the fact that a teacher must be firm to help teach discipline, sometimes Morales was a little too firm to the point that my child became uncomfortable and started to shut down. To be clear, Mr. Morales was always firm but seemingly singled out a kid or two and was way too tough on those kids. My child is not the kind who takes to a heavy handed approach very well, a soft approach is what helps get to my child and Mr. Morales always seemingly just had a very tough way of addressing my child every single time to the point that my child started to fear the sensei out of pure intimidation. Why should a parent pay for classes so their kid can fear a grown man? And the fact that he is the sole instructor doesn’t help because my kid had no one else to help them except for the one guy who’s there that happens to be unnecessarily tough. My child responded well to his positive approach whenever they came but those were too far in between. My child stopped caring and got sloppy since the desire to learn was no longer there where had my kid been treated with a little more kindness, my kid would have responded better and put more effort. I eventually had to pull my child out of his classes cause my kid just wasn’t enjoying it anymore but instead dreaded and feared going to class thinking the sensei would just call them out which was the case more often than not. Positive reinforcement is not the Mr. Morales’ strong point. It truly is unfortunate that it turned out the way that it did because it started out so well and my kid was doing amazingly until they started feeling intimidated and now we’re in search for a more kid friendly place to learn. Sensei Morales is a no nonsense kind of guy but that approach should not be the same approach when dealing with a kid or at least he should not be too critical and scream at kids at every turn whenever a kid doesn’t do things to his liking. They are kids learning the art and should be treated as such. Absolutely terrible experience at the end. If your kid is a more sensitive kind of kid, do yourself a favor and look to learn elsewhere cause this teacher will chew your kid up and spit ‘em out.

Karate is one of the highest moral principles, and all true martial artists should practice exhibiting honor throughout their martial arts journey. Simply put, honor is the act of living out the values of respect, duty, integrity, and selflessness in everything that we do. This establishment posts pics of children without the required consent. I asked them to remove pics of my child posted publicly for the protection of my child, and that was ignored, with confirmation of receipt of my request 24 hours later, my child's pics are not removed. How does one teach principles to others that they themselves lack? The simple answer is, they can't. Save your money, go to a true martial arts studio where these principles aren't only taught, they are honored.
