  Great place to train!.... everyone is very supportive and knowledgeable guiding you towards your goals. Weather you want to learn jiu-jitsu for personal defense, fitness or competition, there is always someone taking you to the right path.

  Fantastic, welcoming atmosphere. The gym culture couldn’t be better, facilitating learning and enjoyment of BJJ. On top of that Prof Doug is a world-class instructor and his love for this art is infectious!

  I have trained at many different grappling gyms and Brazu Academy has been the best place for my development. Doug Barros is a long time competitor and instructor. He emphasizes real world scenarios and brazilian jiu jitsu fundamentals. The students at Brazu are awesome and excel at old school pressure based bjj. If you’re interested in brazilian jiu jitsu this is the place to be.

  Brazu academy is a great place for beginner, intermediate and advanced students to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defense. Professor Douglas is extremely experienced BJJ competitor and practitioner and an excellent teacher. He doesn’t just teach techniques and sequences, but works individually with students to correct errors and highlight details. Students are talented, welcoming and respectful. Highly recommend!

  High-class technique, taught by world-level competitor and professor Douglas Barros. Aside from that, the other students in the academy are welcoming of newcomers and willing to teach and learn aside you. Couldn't ask for a better place to train and study the art.

  Brazu Jiu Jitsu Academy is an amazing place to learn Brazilian jiu jitsu for self defense or competition. It's a welcoming environment for students of all skill levels with an amazing instructor to match. Professor Barros is as good as it gets -- he's a top instructor who has competed at the highest levels and will give you all the tools you need to sharpen your ground game. Definitely worth checking out if you're passing through town, looking for a new academy or just starting your martial arts journey.

  The hardest part about starting BJJ is walking through the door. As a beginner I couldn’t imagine a more welcoming environment, the genuine care and assistance of fellow students has kept me coming back. The instructor is excellent and teaches every detail which I find compatible with my own learning style. I highly recommend Brazu Academy.

  Easily the best martial arts academy I have ever trained at, and I have trained in close to a dozen places ranging from high school wrestling programs, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, boxing, vale tudo, and BJJ. The instructor is a gifted and dedicate teacher and accomplished competitor at the highest levels of BJJ. The team is a genuine team with a sense of cameraderie and dedication to one another that is blind to belt color. I can't recommend highly enough, and I look forward to every training session.

  Brazu Academy is an awesome place to learn REAL Brazilian jiu jitsu from a world class instructor!! Professor Barros is a phenomenal teacher and decorated competitor. Amazing group of students, as well. Respectful, welcoming, love to train and NO EGO.... doesn’t get any better. If you’re interested in learning bjj or looking for a new school to continue training definitely check this place out!
