The BEST place in the Bluewater Area to train Martial Arts. The Weir family is absolutely amazing. Whether you're looking for your child, or yourself to learn self defense and discipline, this is the place to do it. We are truly a big family here!
If you are looking for a place to get your kids (or yourself) into karate, this is the place! They teach so much more than just how to move your body. It comes with discipline and guidelines on how to conduct yourself in daily life like the proud martial artists the students become.
I started this program in 2018 I think. When I was 8 years old. I reached blackbelt in 2020 then discontinued my training for I had gotten older and school sports. The Weirs are extremely talented in what they do. They taught me to be myself. Very welcoming environment. I know I will always be welcomed and have my karate family there. It isn't just people training together, you join the family. Almost all of my favorite memories from 2018 and up is from that dojang. They don't just care about money they form a relationship with everyone and it they care deeply about all of their students. I gained so much confidence through the program and I still carry that. They also teach self discipline and not giving up which I use everyday. Along with providing me a safe place to be whom I truly am. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. Not only did I leave with a new family, knowledge of how to defend myself, confidence, however I also left being a way better person than I could have been if I hadn't forced my parents to sign me up. I could say so much more however, you get the gist. This place ROCKS!
My Daughter has attended for 6 months and I cannot wait to see her combat skills enriched. Her confidence has already grown. Great place to start

Blue Water Martial Arts is an excellent place to work with young children, in-betweeners, teens, and adults. Deep knowledge of martial arts. They have an excellent demeanor and method for safe instruction leading to confidence, discipline, and improved focus. Highly recommend!

Really good with kids! My son, who is nine now, had low self esteem and lacked confidence and independence until he started working with Master Weir and all of the other black belts that work with him. It has been absolutely heart warming to watch him grow and be treated with such patience and respect by every single person he encounters there. It’s been a very supportive and encouraging environment for my son, not only from the instructors and students but from the family members who sit with us week after week. He is also learning to give respect not only on the mat but at home and school too. I can’t say enough good things about this place and Master Weir, highly recommend!

Fantastic facility! Top notch instructors geared toward family growth and development in addition to their martial arts lessons. Many other supplemental classes available in fitness and weapons I addition to always helping and being a positive influence on the community.
I couldn't pick a better place for karate. Starting out, I just wanted my son to be in classes and ended up joining myself at 31. Now a year in and Master Weir, Kyosanim Weir and all the amazing Kyosas, blackbelts and staff are nothing short of spectacular. You truly become family here and couldn't recommend them enough - so grateful for randomly choosing here as opposed to other options!
I absolutely love training here with my son! The owners and instructors are amazing with all ages. The staff is talented and knowledgeable and always willing to help! Everyone truly cares and treats you like family. I highly recommend starting today on your journey to black belt!
The Weir family have been teaching martial arts in Port Huron for 15 years as of 2024 (although became BWMA just this year). They believe in excellent self defense training and traditional techniques. The care and dedication they have for their students is beyond any other extracurricular my family has ever been involved with. They truly are a family here. I achieved Black Belt with them in 2013 and am still welcomed back with open arms whenever I have the privilege to visit. They even bought me a new uniform when their logo changed so that I didn’t have to have the extra expense! Highly recommend for families of all ages; my brother & I couldn’t do any other activities together growing up, but karate is divided by rank, not age, so we were able to train together! The same is true for parents/children/grandparents: the family that kicks together, sticks together!
