Top notch coaching and top notch students. Great place to train BJJ full time or drop in while visiting town. Also lots of room for wrestling rounds!

All the negative reviews don’t understand that when the official refs of a tournament call no cheating, then there’s no cheating. Both Black Tie Midwest and Kalamazoo are solid places of learning Jiu Jitsu. You won’t find better instruction in southwest Michigan.

Black Tie Jiu Jitsu Midwest is an excellent facility with a great training environment. The instructors are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and they do a great job of making sure everyone feels welcome. The classes are challenging, fun, and there's a great sense of community among the students. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space for rolls. Overall, I highly recommend Black Tie Jiu Jitsu Midwest to anyone looking for a high-quality jiu jitsu experience.

If you want to learn jiu jitsu, I would suggest finding another gym - their head bjj coach, Caleb Brown, was caught cheating at a recent tournament. Find yourself a gym that actually uses skill to win.
