Wow!!! Would give 500 stars if I could. I highly recommend Black Mountain Defense! Everything about them is amazing. The gym is very nice and always clean. I initially contacted Pjeter for handgun training and now we are doing boxing/jujitsu and self defense work several times a week,. I love it all. My daughter and I go together for the floor training several times a week. The IDS (integrated Defense System) class is great for me because it allows us to simulate real life situations with the handgun and is getting me more comfortable carrying, drawing and also helps me learn how to defend myself while being "attacked". This makes much more sense than going to the range and shooting a target that doesn't move or threaten. Pjeter and Vlora, one of the awesome female instructors, did a two hour self defense training for 12 women one Sunday morning and it was the best! I have also had the pleasure of meeting and working with Will and KK. They too, are super warm and helpful. All of them are certified bad asses. :) If you are reading this, it means you are interested in doing this type of training...Don't hesitate to reach out to them.! I found them and contacted based on google reviews and I couldn't be happier!

This is THE place to train! I had zero formal training and was a bit nervous not knowing what to expect. Pete is super down to earth and made our whole group feel right at home right out of the gate. He really focused on safety and technique. I learned a lot about what I was doing wrong, and how to do it right. I will absolutely be back for more !!!!

I did CPL glass and Gun 1 class so far with instructor Pete (Pjeter) . Me and my wife will be taking more self defense classes with him. He has so much knowledge and is very good at what he does ! Would recommend to anyone that is looking to learn how to handle a weapon or learn how to self defense without a weapon ! A+++

My son and I just completed Handgun 1 with Pjeter at BMD. If you want the best hands on training for self defense with hand gun use, BMD is your place! Pjeter’s experience and his ability to connect with his students are top notch!

My wife and I attended BMD CPL training and had a great experience; so much so that she wants to start training Krav with our daughters. Wife was very nervous but Pete & his team took extra time and worked with her one on one. Anyone looking for self defense training: this is THE place to be.

I attended Pjeter's seminar when he was a guest instructor for Apex Defense Academy in Waltham, MA. I'm so glad I went! Pjeter was great instructor, down to earth and taught us practical skills in an easy to follow format (which I greatly appreciated). Hope he will come visit us in MA again!

Pjeter came to Memphis to do a weekend training session "Accessing your weapon during a fight". It was the first such session I had ever participated in. He did a great job of preparing us with the "what" and "why" of the drills we were about to perform, and following up afterward with helpful comments and critique. His presentation was excellent. He gave clear instruction and kept the class interesting. I learned a lot about what I need to work on, and was given some great drills that will help me to get better at useful skills.

I’ve been taking private session with Pjete at the range for couple of years. Each time I learn something new. He makes every session exciting and never runs out of ideas. His Handgun classes are well thought out, safe and fun. I also became a member of his gym/school in 2022 where he teaches combative training, self defense, weapon based grappling and much more. Training at BMD I didn’t just gain self confidence but I also gained a family. Pjete is beyond knowledgeable and a very passionate instructor.

This was my first time ever doing jiu jitsu and I must say I absolutely loved it. At first I was afraid not knowing anything about it and to be honest I was afraid of possibly injuring myself but I immediately felt less intimidated as soon as Peter had started class. He was clear, concise and above all prioritizes safety for all of us. He has clear rules for the class students and emphasizes having fun and learning. Vlora, also a teacher/student was giving us 1:1 attention making sure we understood the moves as well. By the end of class I just felt so elated and good and learned a lot all in a 1 hour class. Thanks to black mountain defense for giving me such a great first experience, I’ll definitely be back!

Training from Pjeter at Black Mountain Defense is without a doubt the best training in self defense you will ever receive. As a long time member, I cannot express how much training here has influenced me and improved my life. He teaches valuable life skills that make you want to come back to each class learning more and improve your ability to defend yourself. Self defense training is not a weekend class to empower yourself, but a journey in how to evolve your skill set for the dangers in our world. BMD is a well rounded school that is multi-faceted via striking, grappling, weapons training and much more. You will find no better instruction than Pjeter with his vast knowledge base, expertise and his passion for self defense. Everyone at this school is welcoming and treats you like family. I cannot recommend this gym enough.

Experienced Leaders. So happy I reached out to friends and got a recommendation to take a course with Black Mountain Defense. Very knowledgeable, safe, and enthusiastic leaders made this class a pleasure. Felt safe standing alongside strangers and the drills I learned will keep me busy until the next level, which I've already signed up for. All CCW/CPL carriers should take this class, if you haven't it's time. Increase your confidence and knowledge, don't be a gun dummy.
