We just joined this gym, and the experience has been incredible from day one. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of the family right away. The coaches are not only skilled and knowledgeable, but they also genuinely care about our kids’ growth—both on and off the mats. It’s clear that they’re fully dedicated to helping our kids build confidence, discipline, and strong bjj fundamentals. We’re so grateful to have found this gym and excited for the journey ahead!

This place is SO great for my highly energetic 5 year old son. The instructors are amazing, fun and also demand discipline and respect. You can see how much the kids respect them while having so much fun! My kid loves going every time. I’ve also seen a difference in his behavior at school and home.

We have been attending Alliance in Vail for years and love it. This jiujitsu class brings our kids well beyond physical training (although they get a lot of that too). The discipline, confidence, and life skills that come from being part of Alliance has been outstanding. Highly recommend!

The coaches and instructors at Alliance Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at both the Vail and Tucson locations are extraordinary. Many of the professors are actual world class professional black belt fighters, whom not only have traveled the world to compete internationally, but are highly ranked and celebrated within the IBJJF community. Their teaching, guidance, and encouragement is second-to-none. The opportunity for my son to receive thier skilled BJJ training and instruction is analogous to receiving boxing instruction from the likes of Mike Tyson. For example, Marcus Vinicius "Scooby" Ribeiro placed second in the 2024 World Crown Championship this past November, earning a Silver Medal - after advancing through the quarter and semi-finals as an absolute black belt heavy weight. Again, the professional training offered at Alliance BJJ is world-class, where you feel like asking for an autograph. The head professors are straight from Brazil, where they are highly ranked and recognized on the IBJJF world stage.

Case in point, I'm typically a slow learner of any skill, yet I'm always, always, always shown tremendous patience as I'm often in the need of much appreciated "adult supervision"! My daughters and I train here! Professor Bruno is amazing and so kind. He is great with the kids! The adult class is great! He explains techniques and challenges you in such a positive way. Everyone from white to black belt makes you want to better yourself. It’s such a respectful atmosphere and you just continue to learn.

I have been training at Inverse 1.5 years and my now seven year old son for just over 2 years. I love the Professors and coaches. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable and care about each and every student continually learning and getting better at BJJ. They will definitely challenge you and take you to your limits if that is what you are looking for but you need to put in the work. We receive instruction from high level bjj practitioners who compete at the highest levels but they still break things down to the basics for everyone to learn and practice. The locations are so clean and convenient and the schedules give so many opportunities to train and learn.

The instructors at Inverse are nothing short of amazing. My daughter started attending when she was 5 and has stuck with it for over a year. Her skills have improved and she’s grown tremendously off the mat as well, she’s more confident and outgoing. The instructors also teach respect both on and off the mat. The variety fo class schedules at both locations help working parents as well. We love Inverse!

Incredible place to learn and train. The professors and coaches are absolutely fantastic and genuinely care about all students. The business is run extremely efficiently, information about schedule changes is always presented clearly, other martial arts schools could take notice on this. Probably the best part though is the culture the team has created, everyone is welcome no matter age, skill or athleticism. Definitely worth giving them a try if you are in the Tucson/Vail area!

The staff and instructors were and still are great overall. My son participated after school which Inverse had numerous classes at both locations to fit a busy lifestyle. During training the instructors were direct with the moves/technique. They provided various ways to accomplish the moves/grapples/throws by doing ample demonstration showing different angles/view points for the new students to see. When students practice once again the instructors provided great feedback to accomplish the technical moves while keeping the students safe during training. Safety was accomplished by learning how to absorb the impacts from being thrown. The classes had mixed experience levels of the students at times but the instructors have shown time and time again to provide training to each student to help them attain their goals in training. Overall I recommend Inverse if you are getting started or to continue your training to the next level.

Not only are the professors nice so are the students so don't be surprised to get an immediate hello from students if you're new. It's a very good environment to learn Jiu jitsu!

We had a good experience until my son aged out of the younger kid class and moved up and had a new main coach. He didn't have the patience I had seen in most of the other coaches and he did not look like he enjoyed working with kids unless they were very skilled and didn't stuggle. We had been going here for a year only to leave abruptly because of our last class experience. He would get annoyed when our son couldn't remember the moves. He seemed very hands off when it came to showing him a new move and expected him to get it the first time by watching it. The last class he asked my son if he even wanted to be there after he didn't pick up a new move after watching it. Instead of working with him and the other student (like the other 3 coaches who dispersed on the matt to help those who were struggling) he got visibly irritated with them. When class was over and they had all the kids line up, this coach, infront of a crowded room, announced "if you don't want to be here tell your parents because I don't want my time wasted". It was clear who he was directing it at. We didn't want to pull my son but after that experience we felt we had no choice and that we were no longer welcome. When we tried to unenroll the following day they responded that we would still be charged for the next 2 months because of their policy. The last class we went to was our first class for that new month, so we had to pay for 2 full months of service we did not receive. It was a really unfortunate way to be treated after giving them our business for a year.

I think the instructors do their best and are highly competent. However, there. really is no scheduling, so no one knows how many participants they are going to have and therefore it is not possible to know how many instructors u need. One time we had 40 students and 4 instructors, tonight we have 18 students and 1 instructor. Like I said, the instructors are competent but it is impossible to make sure students are doing their moves right with that ratio. I like the flexibility of participating at either studio but there needs to be some sort of sign up so that staff could be adjusted accordingly

Not worth the price. I miss Gabriel and Jay! Not a bad community but owners are very money hungry. I never really felt like they cared much about me or my families improvement, just the payment. Best coaches are gone now 😢. Hope that things get straightened out someday soon. I feel that the way promotions work help people feel confident in their skills but I do not think they are accurate. I now go to chute boxe academy in sierra vista, love the price (almost half of what I paid here), coaches, people and how much I have progressed in that environment opposed to Alliance (Inverse).

They force you to buy their clothing, not just the gi, but also the regular sport shirts and shorts, the ordinary sports clothes just with their logo are more than 100 dollars, I can buy 10 with the same quality on Amazon

My Teenage son loves going here. Unfortunately they only care about money. We are poor and have to pay monthly. My son missed the last week he paid for to help his uncle recover from head surgery. He missed the next month due to hardship and they not only refused to credit him the week he paid for and missed they expect us to pay for the month we couldn't afford to go before he can return. Bunch of money hungry bad people who don't care about this community🤑
