We've been at Cabot Martial arts for going on 3.5 years. My son started at the age of 5. We've had ups and down but this place is absolutely incredible because of Mr. Guay. He truly cares about the kiddos/parents and wants them to learn. He doesn't just hand out belts he takes the time to build a relationship, listen to what you have to say and teach. He pushes his students to their max in a good way to get to their full potential. Mr. Guay is involved in so many events in the community. He is a blessing, and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good sport to teach discipline, self-defense, confidence and respect.
I ended up getting my black belt from this place 6-7 years ago an now I'm 18 but I really did love this place alot back then I would love to come back an retrain from the ground up it would be so fun
Thankful our grandsons have gotten involved in this program. They are not only learning karate but more importantly about respect and behavior. They are enjoying this program and learning a lot. Thank you.
My nephews have enjoyed attending the classes here & have learned so much!
Great place and my grandsons loves it and has learned a lot.
All Star has been great with my child. I wanted her to build confidence, awareness, self-discipline, and self defense. They are working with her and I am seeing a difference. Ms. Bertram is excellent with the kids and at the same time, let's her expectations known. She is simply amazing in my opinion. Definitely worth checking them out.
Great instructor, fun for the kids. Self discipline and make your kids stronger and more confident.
This is a GREAT place and the instructor is GREAT!!
We signed our 9 year old daughter up here about 6 weeks ago and she loves it! Ms. Bertram and her fellow staff members are great with the kiddos. Totally recommend this facility.
They have great teachers and have always been great with my kids. My kids have done amazing since starting and almost have their black belts
After my kiddo tried several different things from sports to music, even horses she has now found her calling. Absolutely loves GTMA and truly upset when class isn’t until tomorrow and she has to go to school before she can get back in her uniform. Highly recommend, great staff and very attentive and hands on.
The difference in my boys behaviors after just 3-4 months of being here is so great to see. Ms. B is the best. She cares about all the students and makes it known, we have worked on not only our black belt behavior but the respect that comes with it.
Ms B is the best thing could’ve happened at the school. We are so glad that we got our nephews involved in karate, the level of respect that has been instilled into our nephews is outstanding. So excited to see where they go in the world of GTMA!
Ms. B is such a great addition to the Cabot team! We are so pleased to have our kids being under her. The boys do so so well, and she is an absolute inspiration for them to look up too!
Great place for my kids! Ms. Bertram is an amazing instructor and has made a huge difference in my child’s behavior and confidence.
I really am enjoying the classes and meeting new people every time, the instructors are so nice and kind.
My 3 year old really loved it! The instructor is so nice and patient.
Wonderful experience. The students really enjoy themselves.
Super friendly and very knowledgeable! Incredible martial artists and teachers!
Great instructors and the kids have lot of fun
They kept taking money out of my account even though they weren't holding class, and the billing dept kept giving us different answers on if my refund was approved. Finally after about 3 weeks of dealing with this I got the money back but it was a pain. Keep an eye on your account to make sure that the same thing doesn't happen to you if they aren't holding class!!
Very shady place. All they care about is your wallet. They don't care about your child. It's just a money pit. 6,7,8 & 9 yr olds don't go thru different belts lol. Or use weapons. That's for adults. They charge you for the outfit, the belt, the weapons, thesign up fe,the walk to the bathroom free. Week you get the point. Glad i got out of there. They're not even real martial artist
While at the neighborhood Walmart in Cabot. I was approached and given a flyer for a free month tryout by the manager, Mr. Wadley and his assistant, Mr. Wade. I had never attended a martial arts class before. I was curious and decided to check it out. I bought a three day $20 tryout for the adult plan for my sister and I. Afterwards, Mr. Wade spoke to me about a membership. I wasn’t certain if I wanted to do a year membership, but Mr. Wade told me that I could do the free month and consider the membership afterwards. He also agreed to give me and my sister a big discount. It seemed like a good deal. I signed the paperwork and attended the classes for a month (May 8 - June 8, 2023). During the month, I kept finding out more things that were required for the classes that wasn’t explained to me in the beginning such as the payments for the gear and the belts. I realized I wasn’t prepared to commit to a year membership. Also, Mr. Wade (whose positive first impression inspired me to consider signing up) was caught giving out “discounts” that weren’t approved by management. He left soon afterwards and all of our paperwork disappeared with him. After June 8th, my free month was over and I informed Mr. Wadley about my decision to not move forward with a year membership. Because I had been impulsive, I had already purchased gear for my sister and I before realizing I would feel this way. Mr. Wadley said that the gear was unrefundable when I wanted a refund. Since I couldn’t get my money back for the gear, I decided that I would do one more month so that I could use the gear that I couldn’t return. At this time, I still trusted them. I handed my card to the assistant and paid for another month (June 8 - July 8, 2023) for me and my sister. After July 9th, Mr. Wadley wanted me and my sister to sign up for a membership and that currently we weren’t in the system. He spent an hour trying to convince me to agree to a membership. I told him that we weren’t going to do a membership and that we would go ahead and leave. He then revealed to me that the adult membership plan wasn’t monthly: it’s only yearly. They had me signed to a membership that I didn’t agree to. Later, I saw that the $253 payment for July 9 - Aug 9, 2023 was withdrawn from my account that very day. I was able to download the membership document from my email. I spoke to Mr. Wadley and an assistant explaining what had occurred. I wanted them to cancel the membership and refund me for the month of July 2023. Mr. Wadley made things difficult. His assistant was helpful and contacted the supervisor, and my membership was canceled. However, ASMA wouldn’t refund me for July 2023 despite me explaining my situation. Through the help of my bank, I was eventually able to get my money back on July 23, 2023. They were sloppy in multiple areas which caused this to happen. Though the prices were expensive, the quality did not feel worth it.
1 star because my kids enjoyed their time. We did a trial class. We got pulled into an office to discuss pricing options with Rowan Wade and a lady with a leg injury. From the start, Wade pressures us into signing up as a family and relentlessly pressured my husband to sign up because of his back issues, after my husband firmly said no multiple times. It all felt like I was at a car dealership talking to a salesman. They discussed pricing for the kids and we were hesitant due to the high price and he began haggling with us and lowering the price to get us to sign a 6 month contract. He eventually offered a “deal” to pay $20/session for 3 classes to decide. Ultimately we felt very pressured left undecided. After talking to other people, we have decided to place our kids somewhere else where we can get the same service without feeling pressured for money. This was the deciding factor and would not do business with a “car dealership” type of operation.
They really only want and care about your money. The Reynolds and Lee family are not something you want to be a part of. They treat their employees and customers with no respect. Crooked. And the Cabot is known to them as the “money maker.” Be warned.
I love what they do for the kids, however we’ve been affected monetarily on 3 occasions. We had to cancel our contract due to falling on hard times and we pulled all of our kids. I was shocked to find that they made a charge for $500 and never removed our card from their files. When we tried to dispute it we were told to chock it up as a loss. $500 isn’t something you chock up as a loss and I will be seeking a refund by any means necessary. It would’ve been different if it was a small sum of money but it was a full monthly payment. Not only do they price gouge by constantly graduating them and asking to buy their expensive gear but they don’t care about their customers enough to stop charging. I really wanted to bring my kids back eventually but this has left the worst taste in my mouth so we will find business elsewhere or put them in something else. A successful business doesn’t operate like this and I think it’s important for me to input a review explaining my experience.
