Popped in here on a visit from Ontario. Andell is a great teacher and a great coach, explains things well and is patient. I will definitely come back here again when I’m in town.
Posted 4 months agoI recently started coming to this gym and it’s been a really fun experience! The owners are also fitness trainers, I’ve had such a positive experience with working out as true beginner who’s hated going to gyms. I’m very happy with the hospitality and expertise they offer. I very highly recommend them! A pleasure to deal with it.
Posted 1 year agoLovely new facility, thats always clean. The Affinity Academy staff are always welcoming and professional, no matter what location you go to. They take time to explain and breakdown techniques. Great kids classes that are well run and organized. My 10 year old has been training here for about 4 years. It's amazing to see her focus on tasks in other sports and school. Most importantly, I don't have to worry about her being bullied at school and that's the piece of mind I need as a parent. Thanks Affinity!
Posted 1 year agoI've had an amazing experience at the Affinity Academy! The instructors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly patient. They make sure everyone, regardless of their level, feels welcome and supported. The friendly community among students here is fantastic, creating a warm and motivating atmosphere. Plus, the facility is top-notch - clean, well-maintained, and equipped for a great training experience. If you're looking to dive into BJJ, I highly recommend Affinity Academy!
Posted 1 year agoThis place is top-notch. The space is aesthetically pleasing, and, most importantly, the mats are consistently clean. The instructors, Prof Andell and Coach Nick, are truly exceptional in their ability to break down techniques and explain subtle nuances, which greatly enhances the learning experience. The training intensity is spot-on. During classes, you start by drilling to perfect the technique, and at the end, you get to "roll" to simulate the technique at real intensity. They also offer open mats where you can engage in matches with different partners at real competition intensity. Additionally, I appreciate that they provide both no-gi and gi classes, which expose you to two different worlds. No-gi is faster and more explosive, in stark contrast to gi, which is more technical and slow-paced. Oh, and I value the fact that advancements in rank are earned, not given.
