Mr. Ty was incredibly understanding with my schedule and made extremely easy to sign up. My wife joined in for a class and was amazed with the teaching methods. My children have been in other classes before and we can honestly say that Aces is on a different level. I can't wait to bring the family. Thank you.

Just had my first class there on Wednesday and loved the teaching style and how I felt leaving the place. I haven't had a workout like that since leaving the Marine Corps in 2011. If you want to push yourself and learn self-defense, this is the place! You will not be disappointed!

I recently signed up for Aces, and so far I truly felt welcomed, appreciated, understood and challenged to be the best version of myself. Every question, doubt and hesitation I had has been answered by a coach I’m glad I joined this community.

Edit: Since I shared my story there has been an influx of 5 star reviews here to boost their rating. A little suspicious. I had an extremely uncomfortable free intro session at this place in 2019. I didn’t want to leave a bad review but I think it’s important to warn others, especially women who might have trouble saying “no” to their aggressive push to sign up on the spot. I really wanted to try a few gyms and find a place where i felt comfortable. After the session, the employee was so extremely forceful about convincing me to sign up for a membership, which was a huge financial decision. I kept saying no over and over and over again. This was a big decision but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. I was feeling so distressed and almost completely gave in to just escape the situation. Eventually, my gut feeling took over and I quickly said no thank you one last time as I made a quick exit. I got such a bad feeling after being there. This goes beyond “trying to encourage people.” I felt so disrespected and pressured. I hope they’ve worked on their terrible recruiting strategy since then.

This class is the best in Austin. They are patient and will work with all levels. I am a disabled veteran who deal with some injuries and mental health issues and they were really understanding and made me feel at home. Ty was my instructor and he was very sharp and attentive.
