As a parent of a 4-year-old, finding an activity that is engaging, fun, and teaches valuable life skills can be a challenge. We found all of that and more at 302 Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Larry and Coach Jason are absolute masters at working with young children. They have an incredible amount of patience and a true gift for making learning fun. My daughter was a little shy at first, but the coaches created such a warm, supportive, and positive environment that she felt comfortable almost immediately. They use games and playful exercises to teach the fundamentals of jiu-jitsu, and in the process, they've taught her so much about listening, following directions, and respecting her partners and coaches. The growth in her confidence and coordination in just a short time has been amazing to watch. She asks me every day, "Is it jiu-jitsu day today?" If you are looking for a place that will not only teach your child self-defense but also build character and self-esteem, look no further. We couldn't be happier with our experience at 302 Jiu-Jitsu!

Top-notch instructors, a welcoming vibe, and clean facilities—what’s not to love? I started training at Wilmington a year ago and recently joined the Middletown location. I initially signed up for my 7-year-old, but after a free class, I was hooked. Now, we both train together! As a parent in my mid-forties, I’ve found a great mix of family time and personal fitness here. The camaraderie and friendliness are fantastic, and I've even snagged a couple of podium spots in competitions, despite having no prior martial arts experience. The coaches—Wild Bill, Larry, Nick, and Rob—each bring a treasure trove of wisdom and unique, complementary skills. Wild Bill's technical details, Larry's MMA insights, Nick's wrestling expertise, and Rob's positive energy and attention to detail make every class an enriching experience. BJJ has not only boosted my confidence but also proved I’m never too old to learn. If you’re unsure, just give it a shot—I highly recommend 302BJJ!

As far as I know this is the best BJJ school in the area . They have classes and open mats that fit peoples schedules whether you work days or nights. The school has alot of long term talented high ranking students rolling on the mat and are as common as the white belts at other schools. In my opinion this reflects great instruction and vibe; if people stick around like that long term then 302 is doing it right. I have a great deal of respect for Ray, Larry and Bill and that cat who does the 5:30 am class sorry I don't recall his name . Rock on wit yo bad selfs you doin it right. I believe 302 is a part of team Balance don't quote me . If you want to get good go check them out in Middletown or Wilmington.

I have been training at 302 for almost 10 years. The environment is great, class schedule has options for everyone and offers a great kids class. If you’re looking for a school to call home or to drop in while traveling this school is a must visit.

I first started 302 Bjj around December of 2023. Walking in I was very confused. I am the kind of person that takes a lot longer to understand a move than most, I am a difficult student. All of the instructors and fellow students welcomed me in, and worked through moves I had not yet understood. Through my time here, I have came to understand that 302 Bjj has an excellent community of positive, strong people and are open to all races and sexes to joining the school. It first started as a class, but now it feels like a family. If you ever consider starting Jiu Jitsu, 302 Bjj is the place.
