10th Planet Miami was founded by 10th Planet Black belt Gabriel Tejada. A true disciple of the No Gi style, this academy promises the most cutting edge No Gi techniques and a family friendly, laid back environment.
Gabriel Tejada is a 10th Planet Black Belt under Eddie Bravo Black Belts Jim Holland and Zach Maslaney. Having trained many years and been ranked under Daniel Gracie as well, Gabe has amassed valuable amounts of knowledge in his near two decades of Jiu Jitsu. Competition is only part of the game, a passion for passing the love of the art along is also something crucial for a teacher's success. Gabriel possesses both, evident in his success on and off the mat. Gabriel came up through the ranks at 10th Planet Bethlehem in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, amongst the likes of Grace “The Silent Assassin” Gundrum, Jon “Thor” Blank and many other active competitors in the North East. An active competitor and experienced teacher himself, Gabe ensures everyone who trains with him will meet their goals, may they be competitive, self-defense oriented or fitness.
Assistant Striking and Jiu Jitsu Coach. Alejandro Tellez is a Colombian Hialeah native with 10+ years of experience on the mats and the cage. An MMA veteran and active competitor, he teaches Friday night competition class and Saturday mornings. Known for his unorthodox style and never ending, innovative curiosity, he is truly an asset to the team.
Anthony Molina Valdes is 10P Miamis most accomplished athlete. Amassing accolades such as a collection of ADCC podium appearances and gold medals, razing the local scene and most recently making a statement on the Professional Grapplers League in Alabama. One of the most prolific leg lockers in the system and most active competitors in the game, he has also truly grown into a dedicated and passionate professor. Going on 15 years in the game at the age of 26, we’re truly proud to have him on the crew!
Gym Manager and Assistant Coach. Estella Fernandez has been training for close to a decade now and has achieved the rank of Brown Belt under the 10th Planet Miami flag. She has become the backbone of the gym, helping to manage anything and everything that makes the gym tick outside of the daily teaching responsibilities. Raised in Hialeah, she is a hometown hero when she steps on stage, showing as much passion on the competing as she does holding down the gym.
Head Striking Coach / Assistant Jiu Jitsu Coach. Mike Miguel—born and raised out of Hialeah, FL—has been training martial arts since 2009. Jiujitsu black belt in the 10th Planet system under Gabe Tejada. Over a decade of experience training many different styles of grappling (jiujitsu, wrestling, judo) and striking (boxing, kickboxing, muay thai). Believer of being well rounded as a fighter and martial artist having fought himself multiple times in amateur MMA in the state of Florida. More than a seasoned competitor he is also a veteran coach helping athletes in jiujitsu, combat jiujitsu, MMA and kickboxing. Even though he loves personal accomplishments nothing brings him more joy than helping those around him achieve theirs and spreading his knowledge and experience as his prior coaches did with him.

Just attended my fourth class at 10th planet Miami . It was the Monday 7 pm fundamentals class, where the instructor Nick did a great job of teaching class. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in assisting with the techniques. He made it fun while also providing answers for every question asked of him. This gym stands out for its welcoming atmosphere, top-notch instruction, and the sense of community it fosters. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re greeted with a genuine sense of camaraderie and respect—something that’s truly rare in many places. A huge reason for this is the incredible leadership of Gabe, the owner and head instructor. If you are new to any martial art, try it here. First time ever doing Jiu-jitsu and it's worth it. The instructors, the energy, and it all depends on if you want to break out of your shell. If you want a new challenge come learn from some very experienced and skill instructors and other members.Frustration is part of the process.
I train in this gym since one year and I love it! The professors have very good bjj skills and they teach it with so much pedagogy. There is many different classes so you can pick if you prefer a sparring session or a regular class. There is also an open mat once a week where you can meet many good people from other gyms next to 10P Miami. You will find different kinds of practionners there, from the complete beginner to the high level fighter, and everybody is very cool.
10th Planet Miami is an excellent place to train. I've been with the academy for over three years after transferring from 10th Planet, Springfield, Mass, and 10th Planet Chicago. Throughout my career in engineering, I've had to move several times for new opportunities. They welcomed me with open arms as part of the family and gave me access to the rest of the South Florida Grappling Community. It's been an awesome place for my growth along my jiujitsu journey.

Been around a good handful of Jiu jitsu gyms In the south Florida area and this place is legit. Coaches are knowledgeable and solid people, the level of instruction is good for all ages or skill levels, and they’ve cultivated a laid back but driven room. A good break from traditional “bow to your sensei” gyms Although everyone’s still mad respectful and helpful. I recommend for the kids program, adults beginners and advanced, or if you’re an out of towner looking for good training on vacation 👍🏼
My son started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu with Coach Gabe at this gym a few months ago. I would sit and watch the practices, fascinated by the techniques and discipline of the sport. Over time, I fell in love with BJJ myself and decided to start training too. Now my son and I spend several evenings a week practicing at the gym. BJJ has become a wonderful family activity for us. The sport teaches invaluable self-defense skills, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and has allowed us to meet incredible people in the process. With our busy schedules, it's not always easy to find time together as a family. Training BJJ gives us that opportunity while learning useful skills, getting exercise, and forming new friendships. Coach Gabe and Coach Estela are excellent instructors who caters to students of all ages and abilities. I'm so glad we discovered this gym. For families looking to try a new activity, I can't recommend BJJ enough. It's been tremendously rewarding for both me and my son.

Words cannot express how training at 10th Planet Miami has made me fall in love all over again with jiujitsu. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more comfortable and respected, especially as a woman training in a dojo primarily with men!!! Coach Gabe makes sure all of his students not only are properly taught how to drill/roll, but makes sure that we’re safe, comfortable, and having good vibes. It’s most definitely a safe space for me and feel most seen and understood here. Brown Belt coach Stel was one of the main reasons I decided to join 10th Planet Miami, reassuring me I’d feel comfortable training with the guys!! 10th Planet Miami is the way to go if you’re wanting to start your jiujitsu journey or continue your jiujitsu journey. Since I started training jiu jitsu, I have been a member of four different gyms and I can say, with the utmost certainty, that 10th Planet Miami is the best gym that I have been a member of. Gabe has cultivated a gym environment that is welcoming and accepting, where members can express themselves, while learning and growing together, as a team. One of the things that I like most is the quality of jiu jitsu that is taught. The sport of jiu jitsu is always evolving and the coaches at 10P Miami do an amazing job ensuring that the most effective and relevant techniques are being taught in the gym. No matter your level of experience, 10P Miami will always provide you with the skills to be the best version of yourself, on and off the mats.
My experience so far has been awesome here in the BJJ and Striking classes. The coaches are knowledgeable and experienced competitors. They're always willing to help you out and give feedback. The classes are well structured, teach you a lot, and are a ton of fun. That culture extends to the members as well, who are always willing to help out. I'd recommend this gym to anyone interested
Visiting brown belt dropped in for a couple open mats while in town. The entire gym was over the top welcoming and I really enjoyed my time with them. Everyone was extremely talented and had really good rolls. Thanks for having us!

I joined 10P 3 years ago when things really sucked for me. Things didn’t get easier but training made me stronger and now i thrive. I basically live at this gym now they’re never getting rid of me.
I remember when I first heard about the gym was when I saw one of Gabe's matches live and I was waaaawww impressed about his performance. Few months later I joined the team and all I can say is that I am right where I belong 💙
Great gym with better teammates. Only a few minutes off of I-75. Multiple classes a day are available from early morning to evening classes. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Before starting at 10th Planet Miami, I used to compete once a year and no real game plan. In the 3 years I've been training here, I've competed far more than the previous 6 years combined. I now have a set game plan and confidence stepping on to the competition mats.
Fantastic friendly and family-like atmosphere with top notch jiu-jitsu and martial arts instruction. I have been a member for 3 years and I consider myself very lucky that this was the place I picked when I wanted to start jiu jitsu. The owner Gabe is both relaxed but professional, and the people there are very skilled and welcoming to people at all skill levels. Very beginner friendly.

As an ex wrestler I was itching to find a new home for myself on a friendly mat, but instead I found a family. Coaching staff are as skilled as they are welcoming, and I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. Shout out to the classmates as well, it really is an awesome group of people.
I have been searching for something similar to the camaraderie had with my highschool wrestling team. Everyone sharing a similar goal and working everyday to better themselves and everyone around them. 10th planet has been a key part of the recent success in my life helping me improve my fitness, discipline, respect, and overall attitude!
I started a doctorate program at around the same time I started training BJJ at 10 Planet Miami. I’m also an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College, a musician in 3 bands, a photographer, and I have a family. I joined the team with the expectation it would be an exciting way to get fit as opposed to just lifting weights at a gym. Besides losing 35 pounds in one year, learning an incredible amount about self defense and fitness, and being surrounded by an amazing group of instructors and teammates who inspire and motivate me everyday - 10 Planet Miami has also been a massive stress relief that carries into my life outside of the gym- helping me to succeed in my education, my teaching, my musicianship, and my personal life. Every role I have to juggle and every hat I have to wear weighs less now that I train here. If you’re thinking about trying BJJ, choose 10 Planet Miami…your life both inside AND outside the gym will thank you.
I went to 10th planet for about a year for the striking classes & I can say honestly they treat you with open arms whether you’re a beginner or a pro. They clean the mats after every session which is important! The owner gabe and the striking coach Mike take what they do very serious and take care of you. Definitely recommend 5/5 if you’re looking to join a gym/family.
I've been a member at 10th Planet Miami since day 1 and have never even considered leaving. Gabe is a wizard and knows how to run a team full of high quality training partners. He's a great guy and coach who wants his students to succeed, and will never bs you about what you need to improve. Beginners or experienced grapplers should check out the team.
Gabe is true to the art, his students, and the business of running a school. Having trained with Gabe prior to us being black belts to seeing the quality of his school, he is a quality jiu-jitsu coach, competitor, and coach. So whether you are new to jiu-jitsu or have been practicing for years, you cannot go wrong dropping in or joining 10th Planet Miami.
One of the best decisions I ever made in my life is starting my jiu jitsu journey at this gym. Gabe and all the coaches treat you like family, not only do they train you to be the best you can be but they are there for you outside the gym if you need them without question.
Growing up playing traditional team sports, I’d always knew that I’d enjoyed being part of a team/collective that gives you the opportunity to grow and succeed not only in sport but at becoming a better person. 10th Planet Miami embodies exactly that. Coaching/instruction here is world class but so are the people. Couldn’t imagine calling another gym home
When Gabe was in the Lehigh valley he was one of my main training partners and closest friends. Gabe is a hustler and one of the hardest working guys I know! No better way to get into training then rolling with these guys.

There are a lot of Jiu Jitsu gyms in South Florida. A typical drop in looks something like this: $50 drop in fee, $50 mandatory rash guard purchase, an hour of training and very little hospitality (unless you’re a high level fighter). What I found at 10th planet Miami was warmth and hospitality, coupled with high-level instruction and a great training room. No price gouging, no air of superiority, just pure Jiu Jitsu camaraderie. I visited most of the major gyms while I was in town, but found myself returning to 10th planet Miami, even though it was way out of the way.

Started BJJ 6 months ago and I couldn’t be any happier with the place I chose to start my BJJ journey. The instructor Gabe is a brilliant, experienced black belt and has a real gift for teaching. The gym environment feels ego free and genuinely feels like a place where everyone is there to develop together as a team.

Gabe, the head coach and owner is the most personally dedicated coach I have ever had. I have previously trained with many stars of the BJJ and martial arts and left to come here because of him. He understands the sport, self-defense and knows the 10th planet system in and out. The Jiu-jitsu is awesome for MMA and everyone at the gym brings the classic 10th planet vibes all the time.
