I was able to visit as a drop in while on vacation in Lisbon. The academy was very welcoming of me including both the students and the instructors. Instruction was largely in English and was very useful. Challenging class and fast pace made for great training. This was an absolute pleasure to include on my trip. Obrigado!

I spent a month in Lisbon studying Portuguese and was thrilled to find Five Elements Jiujitsu Rato. The gym is easy to reach by bus or by metro, the atmosphere was welcoming and international, with friendly training partners and excellent instruction. I especially enjoyed the focus on practical, no-gi standing techniques, which were taught with great attention to detail. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, this gym offers high-quality training for all levels. My time at Five Elements greatly enhanced my stay in Lisbon—I highly recommend it!

Visited 5 Elements academy because I was visiting Lisbon for a few days. The welcome was very pleasant, and the class was very well structured and aimed at helping the student understand the technique and to have fun. Safety and hygiene are also well taken care of. Thank you, Hélio!

A great central location for bjj during my stay in Lisbon. The gym was spotless and had plenty of room to change and shower. More importantly, the owner was so kind and welcoming (as were all the training partners) going so far as to give class instruction in English, as I was the sole participant who wasn’t Portuguese. They also have Gi’s to use if like me, you don’t like packing huge gi’s in your carry on. The level of bjj and the quality of the rolls was also excellent, on par with some of the bjj in tough places like London and the US that I’ve rolled in. Can’t recommend this place enough for visitors and locals alike.

I've been training bjj for 5-6 years and stopped by here while on vacation (wife was not happy about that). Great class, everyone was very welcoming and good talent. Wonderful experience. I would recommend if you are looking for a place to train.
